MONTESSORI EDUCATION FOR 3 TO 6 YEAR OLDS
Our Preparatory Montessori program incorporates the Montessori Method in all we do. We work with the students on language development, phonics and reading fluency and take a deeper dive into math and science. Our passion is creating independent, creative thinkers that love learning.

Tanya Gilmore is the Lead Teacher of one of our Preparatory classrooms and has been with MES for 12 years.
She has a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona and is Montessori certified through Collin County Community College.
Tanya has three wonderful children, all MES alumni, and a loving husband, TJ Gilmore who is an active Lewisville city councilman.
In her spare time, she enjoys being active in her children’s education and activities including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, orchestra and marching band.
Pixie Power has been a member of our Montessori Episcopal School family for 10 years.
She is the Lead Teacher in one of our Preparatory classrooms and also helps maintain our 8,000+ book library.
Her interest in the Montessori Method began while her 2 children attended MES. She was so inspired by the atmosphere of respect and joy that she became a certified Montessori teacher and has been with us ever since.
Mrs. Power is originally from Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in zoology. She has lived in Texas for the past 19 years with her husband, two daughters and various pets that seem to always come her way.
Deborah O’Neil or “Mrs. Deb” as she’s lovingly known, is a Lead Teacher in one of our Preparatory classrooms and has been with MES for the past 6 school years.
She began serving as a floater and PE teacher and then moved into an assistant teacher position. She is now a Montessori certified teacher.
Mrs. Deb is also a registered nurse and has worked in the Medical-Surgical, Obstetric and Geriatric fields. She is married to Bryan and they have two children. She also has two basset hounds that she may or may not also call her children. Mrs. Deb loves cooking, gardening, flea marketing and being on the couch with her family, her dogs and a cup of coffee watching a great suspense movie.
Melissa McCurdy is an Associate Teacher in one of our Preparatory classrooms and also serves as our Physical Education teacher. This is her 3rd year with MES.
She’s worked with children for approximately 18 years now through both employment and volunteering. Whatever her role, her goal is to help nurture a child’s love of learning. She is also a Montessori certified teacher.
Melissa and her husband Tony are proud parents of two wonderful daughters and one precious fur baby. She was honored to be an Army wife for six years while my husband, proudly, served his country and her family recently moved to the great state of Texas.
“I was lucky enough to find Montessori Episcopal and become part of this wonderful community. I look forward to my time here at Montessori Episcopal and I’m honored to be a part of your children’s lives.”
Rachel Wymer is an Associate Teacher in one of our Preparatory Classes and this is her 6th year with MES.
She originally joined Montessori Episcopal School during her first year of college as a Lead in the After School Care program. She became Mrs. Reinhart’s assistant in the Preparatory Classroom for the next 3 years. During that time, she earned her Montessori Certification through Collin County Community College. She left MES for a short time to work in Retail Management and Store Development until rejoining us in 2017.
While she was away she found the love of her life and now has a daughter who attends MES. In her spare time she likes to spend lots of time with family and friends, go for for runs/hikes, and enjoys sewing and dancing.
“The Montessori Method brings the true joy of learning through exploration.”
Tinesha Hutchins is an Associate Teacher in one of our Preparatory classrooms and this is her 3rd year with MES.
She has 10 years experience working with infants and toddlers and was introduced to Montessori at 17 years old while working as an aftercare teacher in Carrollton. She fell in love with Montessori and began her training soon after. She is currently training to become a Montessori certified teacher.
I believe the Montessori method of teaching makes learning fun for the students and I enjoy watching them learn at their own pace as well as guiding them through their own discoveries.
Tinesha lives in Lewisville with her son Jaxson and enjoys being a mother, reading, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
